Graduation in Montessori 2007

As it was the 100th year anniversary of Montessori schools all over the world, the Principal in Bonn, Ms. Beilhartz, together with her staff prepared a programme for the families and friends of the children to see the methodology of teaching. Different exercises were showcased and Aidan was one of them even if he only started about 2 months ago.

He performed building blocks from the largest to the smallest directly from the container and putting it back in order. For those who know this kid, this is quite a feat and we were so proud of him. He also joined his class in their dance number even if he was not supposed to be part of it. His teacher's were so delighted when he was able to do the movements and laughing his heart out. He was also supposed to join the choir but by then, he is a bit tired already and seeing his father, just slyly siddled from the group and ran laughing to Paul, shouting "Daddy!"

We are now officially members of the Proud Parents society as our hearts almost burst out with pride in seeing him and corny as it may seem, I had tears in my eyes.

PS
A drama king - before Aidan was supposed to start his presentation, he saw me and ran to me. But he had to go back to the "backstage" and I moved to another spot to avoid him leaving his work. When he came back "on stage" he was looking at the spot where I was but not seeing me, his little face crumpled as if to cry though he started putting the blocks together. He looked again at the same spot when he was putting back the blocks as if to make sure that I saw him performing. And seeing no one, his face crumpled again. It brought tears to my eyes. But later on, before he completely finished, he saw me waving at him from another corner, so when he put his things aside, he ran to me and hugged me tight, crying. Poor guy. I was just hugging him tight too as we share this very special Mom-Son moment ; )
