I've developed a certain love for sushi just a few years ago as it was one of the most expensive food in Pinas when I was still studying and could not afford it. I've heard of people doing it themselves but I never got round to someone showing me how to do it... well, actually once yes, at a Japanese friend's house, Cheiko is her name, who prepared it for us. But the only thing I can remember was how she was fanning the rice when she opened the rice cooker. She told us its one of the tricks in preparing sushi.
Then last Friday, I just had this major craving for cooking. As it is, I have been really busy with activities outside our home that I practically haven't done any cooking for a few months now. I actually felt guilty and, well, miss cooking. Hey, I kid you not. My hubby and niece will testify to that! Too bad I did not take a picture of it but I wanted to get some real sushi plates first and then I'll definitely make a souvenir. At that time I just felt stupid if my presentation looked good but the sushi tasted bad. But now I feel more confident so I shall sushi on...
